Admission to this program available to any student who meets the eligibility requirements as approved by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.  

1. All applicants to the vocational program must be at least 18 years of age, other requirements include:
2. Complete the application of the admission to the program. Application fee of $100 (Non-refundable).
3.  Photo Identification – Driver’s License, Identification Card, Alien ID Card, Passport, Social Security Card. Proof of 12th grade graduation or have a GED passed the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) are eligible for admission to the program. Official transcripts from other educational institutions.
4.  Students must have completed a certified nursing assistant course and obtained a certificate prior to enrollment into the program. (Must be a CNA)
5. Enrollment to a new class every 3 semesters and students must satisfy prerequisites requirements for   eligibility for enrollment in the new class. Students that meet the enrollment requirements are placed on a waiting list and enrolled to the program as space becomes available.
6. Students enrolled in a clinical rotation class must show proof of drug testing and Covid testing. Must wear a mask as required by the facility.
7. All students enrolled in all classes must have a live scan (background check) before clinical rotations commerce.
8. Must Attend a Mandatory Orientation. 

Required proof of required vaccinations (or required titers) for the following: 

• Physical Examination (within 30 days prior to the 1st day of clinical)
•  Tuberculosis screen two step, or Chest X-Ray. Student with a history of positive PPD should provide current chest X-ray negative result and fill out a questionnaire annually.
• Hepatitis B (three dose series)or a positive titer or waiver.
• Varicella or a positive titer and MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) Vaccination or a positive titer.
• T-dap within the last 10 years, also recommended polio vaccinations.
•  Influenza during the influenza season or must wear a mask during the clinical rotation
• Covid-19 vaccine and/or Covid-19 weekly testing according to CDC, CDPH, federal and state recommendations.
• Students who are pregnant or become pregnant during the program should be cleared by the physician and have no restrictions.
• All health requirements must be met, if not student may not be enrolled or could be dropped from the program.

4. Prove of completion of high School or GED
5. Photo Identification – Driver's License, Identification Card, Alien ID Card, Passport
6. Social Security Card
7. Physical and Health Examination
8. Fingerprinting and Criminal Background Screening
9. Attend Mandatory Orientation the first day of class
10.  HEALTH SCREEN (Due by first week of Class) which includes:

(A)Physical Examination (Within 90 days prior to 1st day of clinical)

(B) Tuberculosis Screen  (Within 3 months prior clinical)

       (C) Hepatitis B Vaccination (Three dose series) or Waiver

 (D) Covid-19 test within 1 week of first day of class) 

 (E) Varicella (vaccine or Titer are recommended) 

(F) MMR ( Vaccine or Titer are recommended)

  (G) Masks must be worn as required by CDC

     (H) Influenza Vaccine during the flu season
