DESCRIPTION VOCATIONAL NURSING PROGRAM
The program provides the students with quality education to promote critical thinking and perform basic nursing care in various clinical settings. Sunrise school of nursing provides quality and affordable education to students enrolling in the Vocational Program. The school offers a full-time program which is 12 months long and a part-program which is 18 months long. The full-time program is Monday through Friday and the Part time program is Thursdays and Fridays. The total program hours are 1788 clock hours. Students who graduate the program receive a certificate from the school and are eligible to sit for the (NCLEX-PN) which is a state examination to become Licensed to practice in California. Licensed Vocational nurses provide patient care through acquired knowledge and skills in prime learning environment. Licensed vocational nurses program students acquire competencies in providing basic nursing care, patient observations, vital signs, utilizing the nursing process in nursing care, medication and treatment administration, wound care, diabetic screening and intervention, infection control, safety, communication with peers, patients and physicians, order transcribing, reporting and documentation.
The program is designed to provide to prepare students for employment in health occupations in Hospitals, Doctors office, travel nurses, rehabilitation, Correctional, Skilled Nursing and Home Health Agencies.
Sunrise School of Nursing Vocational Nursing program consists of 1788 course hours: 618 theory hours and 1170 hours of skills lab and clinical practice. Total number of credit hours to complete the educational program is 1,788 Hours.

Sunrise School of Nursing offer a State approved Nursing Assistant training program, which provides the best and affordable quality education possible. The Program is designed to prepare Nursing Assistants to be professionals in the nursing field, competent in the skills of patient care, and to understand the role and responsibility of certified nurse assistant. The training program for the Nurse Assistant meets the criteria approved by the California Department of Public Health. The completion of the Program qualifies the Student to obtain a Certification of completion from the program and is eligible to take the State Licensing Exam for the Certified Nurse Assistant.
The program is designed for individuals seeking entry-level employment in Health Care, and provides the prerequisites required to prepare to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse or a Registered Nurse. Certified Nursing Assistants work in different areas of the Health Care Industry such as Hospitals, Home Health Care, Hospice, Skilled Care Facilities under the Supervision of a Stated Licensed Nurse. Certified Nurse Assistant career can be a very rewarding and challenging one, and will set the platform for the rest of the Nursing Profession.
